Ti-based amorphous metallic glasses have excellent mechanical, physical, and chemical properties, which is an important development direction and research hotspot of metal composite reinforcement. As a stable, simple, efficient, and large-scale preparation technology of metallic powders, the gas atomization process provides an effective way of preparing amorphous metallic glasses. In this study, the controllable fabrication of a Ti-based amorphous powder, with high efficiency, has been realized by using gas atomization. The scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive spectrometer, and X-ray diffraction are used to analyze surface morphology, element distribution, and phase structure, respectively. A microhardness tester is used to measure the mechanical property. An electrochemical workstation is used to characterize corrosion behavior. The results show that as-prepared microparticles are more uniform and exhibit good amorphous characteristics. The mechanical test shows that the hardness of amorphous powder is significantly increased as compared with that before preparation, which has the prospect of being an important part of engineering reinforced materials. Further electrochemical measurement shows that the corrosion resistance of the as-prepared sample is also significantly improved. This study has laid a solid foundation for expanding applications of Ti-based metallic glasses, especially in heavy-duty and corrosive domains. 相似文献

Cable‐shaped supercapacitors (SCs) have recently aroused significant attention due to their attractive properties such as small size, lightweight, and bendability. Current cable‐shaped SCs have symmetric device configuration. However, if an asymmetric design is used in cable‐shaped supercapacitors, they would become more attractive due to broader cell operation voltages, which results in higher energy densities. Here, a novel coil‐type asymmetric supercapacitor electrical cable (CASEC) is reported with enhanced cell operation voltage and extraordinary mechanical‐electrochemical stability. The CASECs show excellent charge–discharge profiles, extraordinary rate capability (95.4%), high energy density (0.85 mWh cm−3), remarkable flexibility and bendability, and superior bending cycle stability (≈93.0% after 4000 cycles at different bending states). In addition, the CASECs not only exhibit the capability to store energy but also to transmit electricity simultaneously and independently. The integrated electrical conduction and storage capability of CASECS offer many potential applications in solar energy storage and electronic gadgets. 相似文献

The smoke suppression of rigid polyurethane foam (RPUF) modified by melamine was investigated based on three sections: the condensed phase, the carbon layer, and the gas phase. In the condensed phase, the results of thermogravimetry, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) N1S spectrum, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy indicated that melamine could suppress the degradation of RPUF by reacting with the aromatic hydrocarbons. It also reduced the smoke generation because the volatilizable aromatic hydrocarbons were the principal smoke precursors in a fire. In the carbon layer, the decrease from 38.50% to 24.76% of the inner layer oxygen content identified by XPS full‐spectrum and C1S spectrum indicated that melamine could prevent oxygen from transferring into the inner foam by the formation of an enhanced surface carbon layer, and the enhanced carbon layer could also block the release of smoke precursors. In the gas phase, the content of total aromatic hydrocarbons declined to 59.12% according to pyrolysis gaseous chromatography mass spectroscopy and indicated that melamine could reduce the smoke precursors. The results of smoke density chamber and cone calorimeter tests revealed that the addition of the melamine could decrease the smoke density of burning RPUF. We establish a systematic methodology to design and analyse electromagnetic components such as advanced multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) using the finite element (FE) method. We employ a coupled formulation to compute the interaction between the electric and magnetic fields. Unlike a linear distribution of current assumed in the circuit model, an accurate electrostatic solution to model the entire advanced MLCCs (4 × 4 × 27 = 432 cells) is presented. The FE solution is used to compute the lumped parameters for a range of frequencies. These lumped parameters are then used to compute the parasitic elements of the MLCCs. We introduce two algorithms to efficiently analyse the behaviour of a capacitor with changing frequency. The lower frequency (much below the self‐resonant frequency of the capacitor) algorithm separates the effect of the electric and magnetic fields and reduces the computational effort required to solve the FE problem, whereas, the high‐frequency algorithm couples the effect between the electric and the magnetic fields. We use these algorithms in conjunction with a new multiple scale technique to effectively determine the small values of R, L and C in MLCCs. The formulation, the implementation, and the numerical results demonstrate the efficacy of the present FE formulation and establish a systematic methodology to design and analyse advanced electromagnetic components. Quality of service (QoS) support for multimedia services in the IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN is an important issue for such WLANs
to become a viable wireless access to the Internet. In this paper, we endeavor to propose a practical scheme to achieve this
goal without changing the channel access mechanism. To this end, a novel call admission and rate control (CARC) scheme is
proposed. The key idea of this scheme is to regulate the arriving traffic of the WLAN such that the network can work at an
optimal point. We first show that the channel busyness ratio is a good indicator of the network status in the sense that it
is easy to obtain and can accurately and timely represent channel utilization. Then we propose two algorithms based on the
channel busyness ratio. The call admission control algorithm is used to regulate the admission of real-time or streaming traffic
and the rate control algorithm to control the transmission rate of best effort traffic. As a result, the real-time or streaming
traffic is supported with statistical QoS guarantees and the best effort traffic can fully utilize the residual channel capacity
left by the real-time and streaming traffic. In addition, the rate control algorithm itself provides a solution that could
be used above the media access mechanism to approach the maximal theoretical channel utilization. A comprehensive simulation
study in ns-2 has verified the performance of our proposed CARC scheme, showing that the original 802.11 DCF protocol can
statically support strict QoS requirements, such as those required by voice over IP or streaming video, and at the same time,
achieve a high channel utilization.

2002 respectively. He worked as a research intern in Bell Labs Research China from June 2001 to December 2001, and in Microsoft
Research Asia from January 2002 to July 2002. Currently he is pursuing the PhD degree in the Department of Electrical and
Computer Engineering, University of Florida. He is a student member of IEEE.
Xiang Chen received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in electrical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 1997
and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville,
in 2005. He is currently a Senior Research Engineer at Motorola Labs, Arlington Heights, IL. His research interests include
resource management, medium access control, and quality of service (QoS) in wireless networks. He is a Member of Tau Beta
Pi and a student member of IEEE.
Yuguang Fang received a Ph.D degree in Systems and Control Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in January 1994, and a Ph.D
degree in Electrical Engineering from Boston University in May 1997.
From June 1997 to July 1998, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering at the University
of Texas at Dallas. From July 1998 to May 2000, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology. In May 2000, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
at University of Florida where he got the early promotion with tenure in August 2003 and has been an Associate Professor since
then. He has published over one hundred (100) papers in refereed professional journals and conferences. He received the National
Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Award in 2001 and the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award in 2002.
He is currently serving as an Editor for many journals including IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on
Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, and ACM Wireless Networks. He is also actively participating
in conference organization such as the Program Vice-Chair for IEEE INFOCOM’2005, Program Co-Chair for the Global Internet
and Next Generation Networks Symposium in IEEE Globecom’2004 and the Program Vice Chair for 2000 IEEE Wireless Communications
